Esther Berube is the Division Manager for Air Quality Bylaw Development at Metro Vancouver, the regional government that is responsible for protecting air quality in much of BC’s Lower Mainland. She has worked in advancing practices that are good for people, profits, and the planet for over 20 years in environmental consulting and government. Over the past 10 years, her focus has been on reducing emissions from various industrial, commercial, and residential sources through information exchange and regulation.

She is a professional engineer with degrees in agricultural and biosystems engineering and chemical engineering from McGill University.

Esther values deep listening and learning from everyone that has a perspective on an issue in order to develop effective, evidence-based solutions together. She is passionate about mentorship and, most recently, has participated in Metro Vancouver’s internal program and ZEIC’s Women 4 Climate program.
